Green Action Team

Today we had a visit from Mary. She works at the green action centre. She came to teach us about composting. Composting needs air and water and food. The food needs to be raw and from plants. Never put animal products in a composter. Compost comes from plants. Soil comes from rocks. Soil does not come from composters. The food for composting makes the critters happy. We learned about outdoor composting and vermi composting. (That's indoor composting.) Red wriggler worms are used instead of beetles and earthworms. Never feed avocados or potatoes peels to indoor composters. Never feed rhubarb leaves to an outdoor composter. We were suprised to find out that composting does not stink.
